Meet dr. Phaneuf
Originally hailing from New Hampshire with a degree in Exercise Science, Dr. Adam Phaneuf received his Doctorate of Chiropractic at the University of Western States in Portland, OR. Quickly finding that he couldn't get enough of the Pacific Northwest, he settled down in Bellingham shortly after completing his education.
Dr. Phaneuf utilizes a variety of treatment methods in order to meet your needs and help you achieve your goals. In addition to alleviating any pain that you may be experiencing, he places a heavy emphasis on identifying the cause of your injury and providing strategies to prevent it from happening again.
Dr. Phaneuf stays up-to-date with current research and treatment protocols, and pursues extensive continuing education in order to provide the best outcomes for his patients. As an avid cyclist, skier, and surfer, he spends much of his free time enjoying the outdoors and participating in local trail advocacy with his wife, Emily.
"There is no better time than now to take control of your injury and improve your quality of life. I look forward to meeting you and providing you with an individualized approach to treating your pain and reaching your goals!" - Adam
Here at Apex, we offer a variety of treatment approaches that work in conjunction with one another to provide you with improved range of motion, strength, and coordination, which ultimately translates into reduced pain and improved movement.
The ability of a joint and its surrounding structures to move properly can play a role in creating pain or dysfunction. A chiropractic adjustment is essentially a quick thrust that is applied to a joint in order to restore normal range of motion.
Soft Tissue Manipulation
Muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia are often affected by injury, and are frequently the source of pain or dysfunction. Soft tissue manipulation is used to reduce muscle tension, improve range of motion, and decrease pain in these areas.
In many cases, injury to muscles, tendons, or joints can not be remedied with soft tissue manipulation or chiropractic alone. Rehabilitative exercise is a fantastic way to help strengthen, stretch, or remodel certain injured tissues.
Our bodies are designed to avoid experiencing pain. This protective mechanism can often affect how we move, even after pain has subsided. Corrective exercise is used to help re-establish proper movement and reduce incidence of future injury.
From reducing swelling and discomfort to improving movement patterns, kinesiotape can be incorporated to accomplish a variety of positive changes.
